Svitlo is a Ukrainian Dance Association for young dancers ages 3-18, which serves Vegreville and surrounding communities.

Our beliefs are very simple: to teach, preserve and promote the heritage and culture of Ukrainian dance. Our dancers learn to work together in an encouraging atmosphere and feel proud knowing that they are succeeding at each level. We attend several festivals and community events, along with hosting our annual Razom showcase, dinner, and dance.

The Community Association for Lasting Success (CALS) is a nonprofit, charitable organization dedicated to fostering a community where every child can reach their full potential. For 29 years, CALS has provided preventative, early intervention, and educational programs to support families and enhance child development in Vegreville and surrounding areas. Key programs include the CALS Head Start program, an ECS Program funded through Alberta Education PUF Funding, which supports children with developmental disabilities, speech and language delays, and children learning English as an additional language. This program provides interventive services designed to ensure a successful transition to elementary school. Additional programs include the Family Literacy Program, which empowers parents and caregivers and supports their literacy, numeracy, and foundational life skills development in a safe and welcoming environment that includes learning alongside their children and other families; the CALS Breakfast Club, a school snack program that is offered to all elementary students at no cost, this program runs on donations and volunteers; and the Little Explorers Summer Program, which offers educational and recreational activities for young children.

This group meets on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the gym attached to the library. The program provides a safe Indoor walking experience with chairs, washroom and water fountain. We walk to music. The town charges a nominal fee of $1 each time you attend. Participation is on a drop in basis.

Vegreville & District Youth Curling offers a fantastic opportunity for young individuals to engage in the captivating sport of curling. The program begins by introducing participants to the basics of curling, teaching them about the playing surface, the equipment, and the fundamental rules of the game. As youth become more comfortable on the ice, the focus shifts to more advanced skills such as rock delivery and sweeping techniques. Beyond the physical aspects, the program also emphasizes the strategic elements of curling, encouraging participants to think critically about shot placement and game plans. Additionally, a strong emphasis is placed on ethics and sportsmanship, instilling in youth the values of fair play and camaraderie that are integral to the spirit of curling.
